YUM! Awarded the 1st AION Digital Art Prize Ahead of Its Premiere at Bregenzer Festspiele
Winners
FEDORA is delighted to share that YUM!, winner of the FEDORA Digital Prize 2025 supported by Kearney, was awarded the 1st AION Digital Art Prize in April 2026, further affirming the project’s growing international recognition within the field of digital and immersive performance.
Created by Studio M.A.R.S. and directed by Wen Liu, YUM! is an innovative participatory XR music theater that immerses audiences in a satirical dining experience where grotesque beauty, dark humor, and tech-driven narratives intertwine. Created by Studio M.A.R.S., this production transports viewers to a parallel universe—vividly absurd and hauntingly familiar - where a sheen of opulence conceals a world plagued by climate catastrophe, food shortages, and societal decay.
The AION Digital Art Prize recognises projects that push the boundaries of digital and new media creation, celebrating artistic experimentation at the intersection of technology and contemporary culture. Receiving this inaugural distinction highlights YUM!’s innovative approach to performance-making and its contribution to the evolving language of immersive and digitally driven art forms.
This new recognition continues the project’s international trajectory ahead of its highly anticipated premiere at Bregenzer Festspiele, taking place in Bregenz on 20 August 2026.
